What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?

Anti-Wrinkle injections are an effective way of softening fine lines and wrinkles. Some examples are Botox and Bocouture.

When we smile or frown our muscles cause the skin to move which naturally creates lines, for instance, when we smile we create lines to the side of our eyes also known as crow’s feet and when we frown our muscles cause horizontal lines on the forehead and vertical lines between the eyes. After time and as we age our skin can lose elasticity causing those lines to become permanent, for example when you stop smiling or frowning the lines remain visible.

Anti-wrinkle injections such as Botox and Bocouture are administered directly into the muscle responsible for that particular facial expression. Once injected into the muscle it will cause the muscle to relax and as a result will smooth and soften those expression lines giving you a younger fresher looking face.

During the initial consultation we will take photos with relaxed muscles and photos with contracted muscles, so you will be asked to smile or frown in order to see the lines to be treated.

You will return 2 weeks after the initial treatment to assess the results and if you need any adjustments this will be done during this 2nd appointment.

It can take 2 – 3 weeks to see the results and last on average for 3-4 months for anti-wrinkle injections like Botox and Bocouture.
